Important Reminders

Notify and Consult Executors

The Executors are legally responsible for all matters relating to the Will of the Deceased and have the power
to overrule the nearest relatives.

In our experience it is rare for the Executors not
to heed the wishes of the nearest relatives, but it
can happen.

Notify Bank and Building Societies

Notify Banks and Building Societies of the death until the Solicitor or Executors can do their work.

Notify Insurance Companies

Notify insurance companies, especially the car insurance company before the car is driven, if the Deceased is the Policy Holder.

Claim any State Benefits

Send any Pension Books or Benefit Books back to
the Department of Social Security, together with the special form obtained from the Registrar. You will also begin to receive other forms for completion. Should you experience difficulty in completing these, your solicitor
will normally help.
