The funeral was held on 10th August for the late Lily Millington of Northwich who died on 1st August 2006 aged 91 years. Lily was born In Old Warrington Road and had lived in Northwich all her life. After leaving school she went to work for Walkers Butchers in Northwich and also cleaned their home. During the war Lily painted along the railway lines and Town Bridge to make them less visible during the blackout. Later she worked at the bacon factory in Winsford before retiring. Lily enjoyed singing in the choir at Queen Elizabeth House and was a member of various local clubs including Queen Street and Wings Club. She lived life to the full enjoying dancing and holidays with her family until June this year. Wife of the late Joseph Millington Lily was a much loved mum to Lily Carol Kay and Ken and will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren great grandchildren family and friends. The service was held at St Helen's Parish Church Northwich officiated by Canon Michael Walters prior to interment at Northwich Cemetery. In addition to family floral tributes donations were received for Acorn Hollow and Alzheimer's Society.
