The funeral was held at Lostock Parish Church recently (on 25th August) for the late Neil Campbell of Wincham who died on 21st August 2006 aged 67 years. Neil was one of six children born to the late William and Frances Campbell. He was their fourth child having two sisters and three brothers. Neil came to Wincham in 1940 where he remained. He became an apprentice boilermaker with I.C.I. and continued to work as a boilermaker when qualified. Neil then had various jobs in the motor industry; working on car repairs and as a sprayer. Ill health forced his early retirement from work. Neil was a keen gardener; he grew giant onions and won prizes for them. He liked football and was a Manchester City Supporter attending home and away games. He will be sadly missed by his partner Grace and his family and friends. The service at Lostock Parish Church conducted by Rev'd Barbara Sharp was followed by interment in the churchyard. Floral tributes and donations were received.
