The funeral was held at Lostock Parish Church on Thursday 12th October for the late Cissy Renshaw of Lostock who died on 4th October 2006 aged 94 years. Cissy was born in 1912 in Wincham and was one of three children; having two brothers Jack and Fred. She was educated in Wincham and was proud to have won a scholarship to Sir John Deane's Grammar School where she attended until she was 16 years old. After leaving school Cissy began to work in a clerical job and latterly worked for SCOPE. She stayed in this position until she was 70 years old also working with her daughters. Cissy married her husband Cyril in the early 1930s sadly she was widowed in July 2000. Their great pleasure was holidays especially going abroad and they had several breaks every year. Following Cyril's retirement they spent a month in March living abroad and later took short breaks in the UK. They were keen tennis players and Cissy had won a cup in a local tournament. Dancing was one of Cissy's pastimes especially Old Time and Sequence dancing. She was proud of having her own car and was still driving when in her mid 70's. In her later years Cissy enjoyed watching all types of sport on television and liked to join in with the quiz programmes. Cissy leaves her three children Pauline Philip and Pat six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The service at Lostock Parish Church conducted by Revd Barry Jobber was followed by interment in the Churchyard. Floral tributes were received from family and friends who attended the service.
