The funeral was held on 17th October for the late Eric Faulkner of Leftwich who died on 8th October 2006 aged 76 years. Eric was born in Lostock Gralam to William and Annie Faulkner. He was the youngest child and had a brother William and two sisters Bessie and Irene. He was brought up in Lostock and attended school in Rudheath and later went to Manchester Technical College. He married Jean Martin on 2nd April 1955 at London Road Methodist Church. They lived in Gibson's Road Northwich moving to The Crescent before finally settling in Leftwich from 1971 to the present. Eric completed his National Service with the Worcestershire Regiment and served in Malaya from 1951 - 1953. He was employed at I.C.I. Lostock for 43 years latterly as a group foreman. Eric enjoyed history he had visited the Commonwealth War Graves in Belgium and France and was a member of the Western Front Association. Eric and Jean liked to spend holidays in Malta and he enjoyed looking after his pet animals. He is survived by his wife Jean and son John. The service was held at St Helen's Parish Church and was followed by interment at Northwich Cemetery conducted by Revd Rowland Crook.
