The service was held on 20th December for the late Hilda Whalley of Northwich who died on 12th December 2006 aged 82 years. Hilda was born in Northwich the youngest daughter of the late William and Martha Hope; she had three sisters and four brothers. Hilda was brought up in Northwich and attended school at Rudheath and Timber Lane. She married Cyril Whalley in 1945 at Northwich. They settled first in Dean Street moving to Paradise Street then James Street before living at Malpas Road Hilda was widowed in 1994. After leaving school Hilda went into service at Moreton Hall Congleton. During the war she worked at Joseph Parks as a crane driver / welder later she worked for Buckley's Cleaning then at Berisford's Holmes Chapel. Hilda was a family person who enjoyed caravan holidays and raising funds for Cheshire Penguins. She is survived by daughter May sons Louis Gerald and Cyril 12 grandchildren 19 great grandchildren and a great great grandson. The service at St Helen's Parish Church Northwich conducted by Revd Rowland Crook was followed by interment at Northwich Cemetery. In addition to Family floral tributes donations were received for the Joshua Tree and Cheshire Penguins.
