The funeral was held on 23rd January for the late Sydney Abrams of Northwich who died on 13th January 2007 aged 86 years. Sydney was one of three children born to the late Walter and Mary Abrams he was the last survivor; a brother and sister pre-deceased him. After leaving school Sydney worked for a local bakery delivering bread by pushbike. He joined the army and became a driver; driving supply wagons in the R.A.S.C. Later he was a long distance transport driver for a firm in Knutsford until his retirement. Sydney enjoyed watching wrestling and football on the television. He liked going on caravan holidays with his wife Ethel and his grandchildren. He had been married to Ethel for almost 40 years until her death in 1982 aged 58. He leaves twin daughters Jean and Ann two granddaughters Michelle and Amanda grandson Anthony and great grandsons Jamie and Joseph. The service at Shurlach Methodist Church conducted by Revd David Goodwin was followed by interment at Northwich Cemetery. In addition to family floral tributes donations were received for Leighton Hospital.
