Funeral report for the late Brian Samuel Capper The funeral was held on 23rd December 2008 for the late Brian Samuel Capper, who died 16th December aged 74 years. Brian was born in Northwich and was the only child of Sarah (Sadie) and Samuel Capper. He was brought up in Northwich and attended Victoria Road and Rudheath schools. He served in the RAF during National Service, spending eighteen months in Germany near Hanover and then Berlin writing to his future wife every day. He married Joan Harrison of Witton Park in July 1959 in a service conducted by the late Canon Maitland Wood. Settling first very happily in Barnton they later moved in 1966 to Witton Park to be nearer to both their parents. Brian worked for British Gas as a Commercial and Technical Sales Representative covering a wide area of Cheshire including Chester. He was a lover of the countryside and spent a lot of time walking the dogs in Marbury Park. He was Sacristan of Witton Church for many years until early retirement when the disease Lupus, Rheumatoid and Pulmonary Fibrosis curtailed his activities twelve years ago. Nonetheless he took up digital photography, watercolour painting, poetry and computing; mainly with Age Concern. He enjoyed holidays in this country and abroad with his wife and family and planned many DIY projects at home which sadly were very often unfinished because of his illness and frequent stays in hospital over the latter years. Brian died peacefully at St Lukeís Hospice where he was given first class care during the last two weeks of his life. Brian leaves a wife Joan, children Stephen & Lisa and grandchildren Isabella, Rachael and Harrison. The funeral service held at St Helenís Church, Witton, conducted by Rev Malcolm Cowan, was followed by committal at Altrincham Crematorium. Approx 200 people attended the service. Family flowers and donations for St Lukeís (Cheshire) Hospice & National Deaf Childrenís Society were received. Arrangement by George Bell Funeral Service, Northwich.
