Funeral report for the late Dorreen Dunn The funeral was held on Monday 12th January 2009 for the late Dorreen Dunn née Millington, who died 30th December 2008 aged 81 years. Dorreen was born in Northwich to Harry & Jessie Millington, the younger of two children having an older sister Kathleen. She was brought up in Winnington and in Penny’s Lane, Lostock, attending Rudheath School. She married George Victor Dunn on 26th August 1950 at St Helen’s Church, Northwich settling at first in Leftwich before moving to Danefields. Sadly Dorreen was widowed in 1997. After George’s death she moved to Dean Street in 1998. She was a WREN for 4 years and was demobbed in 1948. She worked at the Rubber Works, Co-Op, Parkes Steel Works, Curry’s and Broadhurst until her retirement. Her interests included knitting, reading, crocheting and bingo at the Plaza with her friends. Dorreen is survived by her daughter Lorraine, Son David, son-in-law Allan, granddaughter Amanda and her partner Rodney and great grandson Nathan. The funeral service held at St Helen’s Church, conducted by Rev Malcolm Cowan was followed by committal at Altrincham Crematorium. Family flowers and donations for St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice were received. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Northwich.
