Funeral report for the late Brian Tomlinson The funeral was held on 14th January 2009 for the late Brian Tomlinson, who died 1st January aged 58 years. Brian was born in Wincham to Edgar & Doris Tomlinson, the middle child of four children having two brothers and a sister. He was brought up in Rudheath and attended Victoria Road School and Rudheath Secondary Modern. He worked at Harlinstate Clothing Factory until it ceased trading. He enjoyed all sports especially football, cricket & snooker. Although born with polio, Brian lived an active life until a couple of bad falls in later life left him confined to a wheelchair. He maintained his independence and went out most days. He was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2007, but never once complained. He will be remembered by all who knew and loved him as a kind, brave man and a gentleman. Brian is survived by his brother Alan, sister Carole, brother-in-law Bob, nephew David, nieces Kelly & Emma, five great nephews and a great niece. The funeral service held at St Helenís Church, Northwich, conducted by Rev Barry Jobber was followed by interment in Northwich Cemetery. Family flowers and donations for Cancer Research UK were received. Arrangements by George Bell funeral Service, Northwich.
