Funeral report for the late John Fuller The funeral was held on Thursday 28th February 2008 for John Fuller who died 19th February aged 86 years. John was born in Great Ayton, Yorkshire to the late George and Lily Fuller, the middle child of three children having two sisters, Sheila and the late Margaret. He was brought up in Thurnscoe, Yorkshire where he also attended school. He married Freda Yarwood on 19th August 1944 at Wesley Avenue Methodist Chapel, Sandbach settling first in Bolton upon Dearne, Yorkshire then moving to Lostock Gralam, Davenham and finally Hartford. He served in the Royal Navy (1940-1945) as an Ordinance Artificer rising to the rank of Chief Petty Officer, serving in Felixstowe and later Freetown, West Africa. He started work as a fitter for ICI (1951-1981) rising to Group Foreman. John was a keen swimmer. He represented his school and continued swimming well into his eighties. He played bowls for Hartford Bowling Club, was a member and former treasurer of Northwich & District Festival Choir, a member of Mid-Cheshire Masonic Lodge and worshipped at Hartford Methodist Church. John is survived by his wife Freda, sons & daughters in law John & Wendy Fuller and Andrew & Linda Fuller, sister and brother in law Sheila & Jack Dolby-Glover and grandchildren Richard, Michael, Laura & Helen Fuller. The funeral service held at Hartford Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev’d Charles Makonde, was followed by committal at Walton Lea Crematorium. Flowers were received and donations for the International Glaucoma Association and Hartford Methodist Church. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Northwich.
