Funeral report for the late Gladys Redmond The funeral was held on 23rd January 2009 for the late Gladys Redmond née Woodward, who died 10th January aged 91 years. Gladys was born in Barnton to Lucy & John Woodward, the elder of four children having a brother and two sisters. She was brought up in Barnton and attended Church School and Brunner School. She married Frederick Redmond on 19th December 1942 at Lydyett Lane Methodist Church, settling in Chesterway, Northwich where they remained. Sadly Gladys was widowed in 1984. She worked as a machinist at Alkali Works and was a voluntary worker for Cancer Research. She was a life member of Witton Albion Football Club and ran the tea hut at the central ground for many years. Gladys is survived by her nieces Elaine & Gillian and her nephew Stephen. The funeral service and committal held at Altrincham Crematorium were conducted by Revs Jonathan Gough. Family flowers and donations for The Joshua Tree Charity and Bethel Evangelical Church were received. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Northwich.
