Funeral report for the late Ronald (Ron) Leigh The funeral was held on 17th March 2008, for the late Ron Leigh who died 8th March aged 85 years. Ron was born in Castle on the 27th August 1922 to the late George Lovatt Leigh & Annie Leigh, the 5th child of six, having a sister and four brothers. He was brought up in Castle and attended Darwin Street School for Boys. He married the late Anne Sandbach on 25th October 1950 at Middlewich Congregational Church, settling first in Castle then Winnington. Sadly Ron was widowed on 30th January 2001. He joined the Royal Scots and served in Burma during the war. He later became foreman at F. Whiteheads & Sons and worked for several firms. His interests included being an avid reader of History, horse racing and his family. Ron is survived by his daughter, son in law and grandson. The funeral service at Holy Trinity Church, Castle, conducted by Rev’d Carol Seddon, was followed by interment at Northwich Cemetery. Flowers were received and donations for Cancer Research.
