Funeral report for the late Norman Oram The funeral was held on 1st May 2008 for the late Norman Oram who died 21st April age 84 years. Norman was born in Gorstage, Northwich to the late Frank & Elsie Oram, the youngest of two children having a brother the late Maurice Oram. He was brought up in Gorstage & Weaverham and attended school in Weaverham also. He married Nancy Millington on 1st January 1949 at St Helenís Parish Church, Witton settling first at Gorstage, then Weaverham before settling in Leftwich where he remained for 52 years. Sadly Norman was widowed in 1990. During the Second World War he served with the Royal Navy on the Motor Torpedo Boats, serving in the Far East until the end of the war. He worked in farming before becoming a driver for E. Nixon and Harris Road Service, Lostock where he worked until his retirement. His interests included walking, sheep dog trials and going to Beeston Market. Norman is survived by his daughters Margaret & Maureen and son Malcolm, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. The funeral service held at St Wilfridís Parish Church, Davenham, conducted by Revíd Martyn Cripps, was followed by interment at Northwich Cemetery. Family flowers and donations were received.
