Funeral report for the late Donald Tyson The funeral was held on 2nd July 2008 for the late Donald Tyson who died 17th June aged 83 years. Donald was born in Lindale-in Cartmel in 1924 to William & May Tyson and was the middle child of four, having three brothers. He was brought up in Grange-over-Sands and attended Ulverston Grammar School and Liverpool University where he gained his Master of Engineering. After graduation in 1944 he worked for Rolls Royce Aero Engines in Barnoldswick and Derby. He married Marion Darley in1949, settling at first in Marionís home city of Sheffield, where he worked as a Supply Engineer for Sheffield City Waterworks. After moving to Park Lane, Hartford in 1965 he went to work for Mid-Cheshire Water Board (now N.W.W.A.). Sadly Donald was widowed in September 2006. He was a founder member of the Mid-Cheshire Branch of The Gideons and was an enthusiastic Christian, who in recent years had become a loyal member of Christchurch in Hartford. Donald is survived by his older brother Tom and son George. The funeral service held at Hartford Parish Church, conducted by Revíd James Hughes, was followed by interment in the Churchyard.
