Moss, William Edwin

Funeral report for the late William Edwin Moss The funeral was held on 3rd April 2009, for the late William Edwin “Eddie” Moss, who died 25th March aged 80 years. Eddie was born in Wrinehill, Staffordshire to John & Winifred Moss the eldest of three children having a sister Margaret and a brother Peter. He was brought up on Radmore Farm, Haughton and attended Whitchurch School. He married Marion Wright on 15th June 1955 at Bunbury Parish Church settling at first at Gadbrook Farm, Rudheath then later retiring to Wessex Drive, Rudheath in 1989. Sadly Eddie was widowed in 1984. He worked as a dairy farmer. His interests included crown green bowling, golf and Cheshire Young Farmers. He did long service as president of the Cheshire Show and was Chairman of Rudheath High School Governors for 25 years, continuing to serve as governor in subsequent years. The school’s performing arts centre is named after him. Eddie is survived by his daughter Anne Ashley, son David Moss and grandchildren Nicole, Edward & James. The funeral service held at Davenham Parish Church, conducted by Canon Michael Walters, was followed by committal at Altrincham Crematorium. Family flowers and donations for St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice and Rudheath High School were received. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Northwich.
