Fryer, Norman

Funeral Report for the late Norman Fryer KNUTSFORD & NORTHWICH GUARDIAN The funeral has taken place of Norman Fryer who died 23rd May 2009 aged 92 years. Norman was born at Rose Farm, Wincham, the youngest son of John & Hannah Fryer. He attended Wincham School and Altrincham High School. He had a life long love of the countryside and farmed at Rose Farm until 1979. He joined Knutsford Young Farmers Club, being chairman and past president of the club. He was elected onto Wincham Parish Council which he served for 44 years, and was a governor at Wincham School for 40 years, being chairman for 25 years. He met his future wife Margaret at the young farmers dances at Ashley and were married at Ashley Church in 1949. They moved to Plumley in 1979 but still returned to the farm for many years. He enjoyed all family occasions and they celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary in April this year. Norman is survived by his wife Margaret, children David & Diana, daughter-in-law & son-in-law Barbara & Alan and grandchildren Richard, Sarah, Susan & Emma. The funeral service was held at St Oswald’s Church, Lower Peover with the Rev Dr Jane Lloyd officiating. Family floral tributes and donations for Christie Hospital and Lower Peover Church were received. Arrangements by Dodgson’s Funeral Service, Knutsford.
