Langston, Frank William
Funeral report for the late Frank Langston NORTHWICH GUARDIAN The funeral has taken place of Frank William Langston of Weaverham, who died in Warrington Hospital on 28th May 2009, aged 73 years. Frank was the only son of the late Frank and Jane Langston. He was brought up in the Whalley Road area of Northwich and attended Church Walk, Victoria Road and Danebridge Schools. At the age of 15 he joined ICI and was employed as a general worker at their Winnington Works for almost half a century. For a brief period he worked as a steward at Winnington Hall Club and as a milkman for Co-Operative and Express Dairies. In 1967 he married Doris Marjorie Roughley. They remained in the Northwich area until moving to Weaverham in 1988. After he was widowed in 1999, Frank rediscovered his former interest in fishing and became an enthusiastic amateur angler. His generosity, self-depreciating humour and ability to see the funny side in any situation, even during his long final illness, will be greatly missed by everyone fortunate to have known and loved him. Frank is survived by his son Brett and step-daughter Jean. Family, relatives and friends attended the service at Altrincham Crematorium, officiated by Canon Michael Walters. Family floral tributes, cards and donations to the Cheshire Asbestos Victims’ support Group were received. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Northwich.
