Funeral report for the late Ruth Johnson The funeral has taken place of Ruth Johnson who died 2nd October 2008 aged 94 years. Ruth was born on Castle in 1914 to Joseph & Elizabeth Barrow, the youngest of three children having two older brothers Eric & Bert both deceased. She attended Park Street Infants School then Castle Girls School. She married Harold in 1939 at Hartford Parish Church, settling first in Zion Street, Castle before moving to Winnington then Barnton where they remained. During the 1030ís Ruth studied music and successfully qualified as a music teacher. She taught many children in the Northwich area to play the piano. Music was her passion and as a member of the Northwich Festival Choir she took part in a number of choir performances. She was an active member of Barnton Methodist Church, singing in the choir and running the Womenís Fellowship. She was employed as a manageress at Anneís Cake Shop in Northwich and also at the Ski Yoghurt Factory at Cuddington. Her interests included needlework, knitting, crocheting, baking, reading and crosswords. Ruth is survived by her husband Harold, children Patricia & Bruce, son-in-law and daughter-in-law Peter and the late Sylvia, grandchildren Philip, Simon & Alison, Nicola & Werner, Lisa & Gary and great grandchildren Max, Molly, Emma & Daniella. The funeral service attended by family and friends, held at Barnton Methodist Church, was followed by committal at Walton Lea Crematorium. The Revd Tom Stobart conducted the service. Family flowers and donations for Cancer Research UK & Macmillan Nurses were received. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Northwich.
