Henshall, Robert William (Bob)
Funeral report for the late Bob Henshall Northwich Guardian The funeral was held on 6th July 2009 for the late Robert William (Bob) Henshall who died 26th June aged 69 years. Bob was born on 29th April 1940 in Timps Row, Wincham, also known as 9 Houses which have now been demolished. He was the third son of Gladys and Frederick Henshall and had three brothers Brian, Philip and the late Tony and a sister the late Mavis. He was brought up in Wincham and attended school at Marston Primary and Rudheath Secondary. He left school at fifteen and was taken on as an apprentice Boiler Maker for ICI. He continued working there all of his working life, rising to Clerk of Works. He left in 1989 after 35 years of service, taking early retirement due to health problems. Bob had known Pat his future wife all their lives, from an early age, but it wasnít until much later after Pat was widowed that they met and fell in love. After they were married, Bob moved into Patís home in Brook Street and was presented with a ready made family, her two sons Steven and Chris. He was a very good step dad to them and grandad to their seven children. After his retirement Bob and Pat were free to roam the world and that just what they did for 20 years. He enjoyed DIY and could put his hand to anything including old fashioned clocks. But as well as his working life and his hobbies Bob was a family man. Bob is survived by his wife Pat, step sons Steven and Chris and his seven step grandchildren. The funeral service held at Lostock Gralam Parish Church, conducted by the Revd Barbara Sharp, was followed by committal at Altrincham Crematorium. Family flowers and donations for Cancer Research UK were received. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Northwich.
