At the funeral of the late Phyllis May Crank Northwich Guardian The funeral was held on 4th August 2009 for the late Phyllis May Crank née Johnson, who died 27th July aged 79 years. Phyllis was born in Spencer Street, Castle to William Henry & Nancy Irene Johnson, the second eldest of five children having an older brother Cedric, younger brother the late Harry and two younger sisters Irene & Edna. She was brought up in Castle and attended Castle Girls School. She married David Crank on 19th March 1966 at Holy Trinity Church, Castle, settling in Green Avenue, Davenham before moving to Grovemount, Davenham where they remained. She worked at Woolworth’s from the age of 15 to 19 then as manageress at Greenwood’s, Northwich until about 1968. Her interests included holidaying in Spain, Benidorm and Torromolinos and shopping. Phyllis is survived by her husband David, daughter Sharon, grandson Brandon, brother Cedric and sisters Irene & Edna. The funeral service held at Davenham Parish Church, conducted by Canon Michael Walters was followed by committal at Altrincham Crematorium. Family flowers and donations for St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice were received. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Northwich.
