Eckert, Heinz Werner Emil

Funeral Report for the late Heinz Werner Emil Eckert The funeral was held on 27th April for the late Heinz Werner Emil Eckert of Pickmere who died on 20th April 2007 aged 82 years. Heinz came to England from Germany in about 1942 and settled locally where he met his wife Betty. They lived in Great Budworth and then Wincham for some time before settling in Pickmere where they remained living happily for the past 50 years. They have been married for almost 60 years. Heinz was a very devoted family man and enjoyed being in the company of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He spent his entire working life in the family business which in the early days involved carrying out building work on farms throughout Cheshire and was a well known figure in the farming community. He also enjoyed a game of dominoes and darts with his Pickmere friends at the local hostelries. He enjoyed travelling, he and Betty travelled extensively throughout Europe and in later years visited the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean. Heinz was also a keen Manchester United fan and until his failing health he attended Old Trafford regularly, being a season ticket hold for many years. Heinz has not enjoyed good health for a number of years but he never complained or let it get to him. Heinz is survived by his wife Betty, son Kenneth, daughter in law Maureen, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The funeral service and committal, conducted by Rev’d Alec Brown were held at Altrincham Crematorium. Flowers were received and donations for the British Heart Foundation.
