Funeral report for the late Thomas Keane Northwich Guardian The funeral was held on 16th October 2009 for the late Thomas Keane who died 7th October aged 85 years. Tom was born in Northwich to Margaret & Wally Keane. He was brought up in Northwich and attended St Wilfrid’s RC School. He married Beryl Darlington on 24th February 1988 at St Wilfrid’s RC Church, Northwich, settling in Northwich where they remained. A fit young man, Tom volunteered at the age of eighteen for the Royal Navy where the majority of his service was spent escorting Battle Ships in the North Atlantic. During his service he contracted TB and spent three years in a sanatorium. After recovering from his illness he returned to ICI Personnel Department in Northwich where he stayed until his retirement. He loved to walk and go dancing. He and Beryl spent many happy dancing holidays in Spain. Tom spoke fluent Spanish and loved to communicate with the Spanish people. He will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew him. Tom is survived by wife Beryl, Mark & Joanne and grandchildren Jason, Kaylee & Lewis. The funeral service held at St Wilfrid’s RC Church was followed by committal at Altrincham Crematorium. Father Jim McGrath was the celebrant. Family flowers and donations for St Wilfrid’s RC Church were received. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Northwich.
