The funeral was held on 30th July 2010, for the late Edith Yardley née Stagg who died 21st July aged 88 years. Edith was born in Wincham to Maggie & Alf Stagg, the younger of two children having a brother the late Jack. She was brought up in Wincham where she also attended school. She married Fred Yardley in 1946, settling in Wincham in the house she grew up in. Sadly Edith was widowed in 1996 after celebrating fifty years of marriage. During the war she worked for I.C.I then later for Associated Octel as a supervisor in the canteen. She was a member of Wincham Old Friends Club and an active member of Wincham Parish Church. Her interests included bowling, cooking, sewing and dancing in her younger days. Edith is survived by her nephews Ian & Tony Stagg. The funeral service held at Lostock Gralam Parish Church, conducted by Mr Graham Sheen was followed by committal at Altrincham Crematorium. Family flowers and donations for St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice were received. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Northwich.
