A Thanksgiving Service took place on Friday 27th August at Lostock Green Methodist Chapel for William Arthur Fellows; a farmer and devoted family man, who died on 18th August 2010, aged 91 years. Arthur was born in Ashton, Nr Chester where he spent the early part of his life. He met his wife Mary, who was in the Land Army, whilst working on adjoining farms in Tarvin. They married in 1942 and moved to Cae Hic in Treuddyn, Mold. In 1949 they moved to their own farm in Pentre Chirk and in 1956 the whole family moved to Park Farm in Lostock Green. Arthur farmed there until his retirement in 1985, when they moved to a house in the village. He enjoyed village life and supported the local Methodist Chapel. His passion was his garden and he spent many happy hours there, including his large vegetable plot and aviary. He was sadly widowed in 2000. Arthur leaves seven children and their partners Sydney & Marjorie; Lilian; Rosemary & Alan; Jean & Pete; Kathleen & Barry; Michael and Andrew & Fiona, 16 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him. The service at Lostock Green Methodist Chapel, was conducted by Mr Ian Lee. As well as family floral tributes, donations were received for Lostock Green Methodist Chapel and St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Lostock Green, Northwich.
