The funeral was held recently (6th January) for Peter Collins of Rudheath, who died on 24th December 2010, aged 81 years. Peter was born in Northwich to James and Mary Collins, he was their eldest child, having two sisters. He attended Park Street Infants, then Darwin Street Boys School. Peter married his wife Edna at St Helenís Parish Church, Northwich on 23rd December 1950. They settled in Marbury Park before moving to Rudheath. He completed his National Service, being involved in The Suez Crisis. Peter was employed as a Foreman Fitter at I.C.I. until his retirement. He enjoyed Crown Green Bowling, gardening and his family. Peter leaves his wife Edna; sons Stuart & Paul; daughter Janet and seven grandchildren. The funeral was held at St Helenís Parish Church, Northwich followed by committal at Altrincham Crematorium, conducted by Revd Barry Jobber. Family floral tributes were received and donations for St Lukeís (Cheshire) Hospice. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Lostock Green, Northwich.
