The funeral was held recently (6th January) for Peter Morley of Barnton who died on 28th December 2010 aged 68 years. Peter was born in Aberavon, Port Talbot, South Wales, he had two sisters Doreen and Gillian. After leaving school he worked as a crane driver at a steelworks until 1969 when he emigrated to Australia on a £10 pass. He married his first wife; they had three children Lisa, Glen and Cheryl. Peter joined the Royal Australian Air Force, spending his time at various postings, his favourite being Darwin Northern Territory. He returned to the UK in 1980, when he divorced his first wife; met and married Joan, to whom he was married for 28 years. He later became a grandad to Ben, Malachai & Alisher. Peter had various jobs; one of which was at Mere Golf and Country Club where he worked for 10 years. He loved the game of golf; enjoyed Rock & Roll music; dog showing, archery and car booting. Although he enjoyed living life to the full, he sadly passed away after a long and courageous battle against cancer. The service and committal were held at Walton Lea Crematorium, conducted by Revd Geoff Buchan. As well as family floral tributes, donations were received for St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice.
