The funeral was held recently for Brian Weedall of Hartford, who died on 16th January 2011, aged 82 years. Brian was born in Winsford to Bessie and Frank Weedall and had an older brother Colin. He grew up in the Over area and attended St Johnís School. He married Freda Winnington on 27th September 1952 at Castle Church, they lived at Winsford, later moving to Hartford. Brian completed his National Service he worked at Winsford I.C.I at the Salt Mine, as a boilermaker, in 1960 he transferred to I.C.I. at Winnington, until his retirement in 1982. Brian enjoyed spending time with his family and gardening. He took an interest in all sports and was a season ticket holder at Stoke and later became a fan of Arsenal. Brian won his first trophy, The Dickenson Cup, for bowling at the age of 9 years, playing at Over Rec. He played for Winnington Park and was chosen to play for Cheshire, later he joined Comberbach Bowls Club. Brian is survived by his wife Freda, brother Colin and nephews and nieces. The service at Hartford Parish Church was followed by interment at Gorstage Cemetery, conducted by Revd James Hughes.
