The funeral was held recently for Eileen Maud Johnson of Rudheath, who died on 22nd January 2011, aged 84 years. Eileen Hitchen was born in Northwich on 4th November 1926 and had one brother. She lived in Northwich all her life and attended Timber Lane School and later Rudheath Secondary Modern School. On 25th September 1948, Eileen married her childhood sweetheart Ken Johnson at St Helenís Parish Church, Northwich. They lived in Castle, but had various addresses in Northwich, before settling in Rudheath. In 1975 Eileen lost Ken and she took over the management of the Co-op shop in Wright Avenue, Rudheath where she had worked with Ken. In later life Eileen took up cycling, until a stroke took its toll in 2006. She also enjoyed geography, animals, aeroplanes, doing crosswords, listening to music and watching T V, her other interest was her family. Eileen leaves her daughter Kathleen Barnett, son Paul Johnson, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The service was held at St Helenís Parish Church, Northwich conducted by Revd Barry Jobber, prior to interment at Rudheath Cemetery.
