Worrall, Stanley

The funeral was held recently (14th March) for Stan Worrall of Northwich, who died on 6th March 2011, aged 71 years. John Stanley Worrall was born at The Hollies Farm, Onston, Acton Bridge. He was the eldest child of John and Edith Worrall; having a younger sister Hilda. Stan, as he was known, was brought up in Onston and attended Miss Sutton and Miss Feldie’s Preparatory School in Weaverham, before moving on to Kingsley High School. He married Sheila Huxley at Holy Trinity Church, Castle on 1st June, 1963. They lived in Manchester Road, Lostock, then moved to Moulton, Winsford and latterly to Rudheath, Northwich. Stan worked at Moore and Brock; at Lewis Bros Sand and was employed by James Lynch and Sons Transport for 35 years, until an accident forced his early retirement. He enjoyed motor cycling and scrambling; football and golf; he was a formerly member of Knights Grange Golf Club at Winsford. Stan is survived by his wife Sheila; his children Janet, Michael & Stella, his grandchildren and sister Hilda. The funeral was held at St Helen’s Parish Church, Northwich, conducted by Revd Malcolm Cowan and was followed by committal at Altrincham Crematorium. As well as family floral tributes, donations were received for St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Lostock Green, Northwich.
