The funeral was held recently (12 May) for the late Geoffrey Dutton of Winnington who died on 2nd May 2011, aged 76 years. Geoffrey was born on 18th August 1934, in Hemming Street, Winnington. He was the second eldest of five children born to Henry and Doreen Dutton, having two brothers and two sisters. He grew up in Winnington and attended Winnington Park School. He and Avril were married on 6th June 1964 at St Chadís Church Winsford. They settled in Harrisonís Place, Castle before moving to a groundsmanís cottage in Moss Farm. After leaving school Geoff did a secretarial course and worked in an office until he was 21, then he completed his 2 years National Service at Devizes, Wiltshire. He became a groundsman at Sandiway Golf Club for 16 years, then at Moss Farm for 34 years until his retirement 2 years ago. Geoff was a big supporter of Liverpool Football Club and he loved to watch his grandsons playing football. He is survived by his wife Avril, sons Anthony and Stephen; daughters Beverley, Julie & Tracy; three sons-in-law; one daughter-in-law and his grandchildren. The service was held at St Lukeís Parish Church followed by interment at Northwich Cemetery, conducted by Revd Carol Seddon. As well as family floral tributes, donations were received for Alzheimerís Society. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Lostock Green, Northwich.
