The funeral was held recently (17th May) for the late John Bernard Stubbs of Northwich who died on 6th May 2011, aged 76 years. John was born in Lostock Gralam to parents Jack and Hilda Stubbs and had a sister Kathleen. He was brought up in Lostock Gralam and attended Rudheath School. On 26th February 1955, he married Maureen at Lostock Gralam Parish Church and they settled in Rudheath. During the war John completed his National Service. He was a butcher and slaughterman, a transport manager and Club Steward at The Railway Club, Northwich. John enjoyed bowling, greyhound racing, flying his pigeons and was a drummer and musician. He is survived by his wife Maureen, six children, 16 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. The service at Lostock Gralam Parish Church, was conducted by Revd Barbara Sharp, prior to committal at Walton Lea Crematorium.
