The funeral was held recently (30th June) for the late Sybil Gleave of Weaverham, who died on 18th June 2011, aged 85 years. Sybil was born in Jubilee Street, Northwich on 2nd September 1925 to John & Ann- Elizabeth Moores. She was the youngest child, having three brothers Arthur, Harold and Sidney and sisters Gladys and Ivy. She grew up in Northwich and Castle and attended Danebridge School. Sybil was married to Leonard Gleave on 6th August 1949 at Holy Trinity Church, Castle. They settled in Middlehurst Avenue, then moved to Russet Road where she lived for 47 years. Sadly she was widowed in December 1987. Sybil worked at the Bus Terminus in Northwich, as a typist for I.C.I., then she spent 30 years in the Distribution Dept at Brunner Mond at I.C.I. Winnington. Sybil enjoyed reading and ballroom dancing at Antrobus, R.A.O.B. Club and the Memorial Hall in Northwich. She also liked to walk her two dogs Gyp and Beeza at Marbury Park. Sybil is survived by her daughter & son-in-law Lorraine & Kim, five granddaughters Heidi, Annabel, Francesca, Camille & Bianca and great granddaughter Isabella. The service held St Mary’s Parish Church, Weaverham was followed by interment in the churchyard. Revd Andrew Brown conducted the service. Floral tributes and donations for Oxfam & The Dogs Trust were received. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Northwich.
