The funeral was held recently (7th July) for the late Eva Garnett of Winnington, who died on 27th June 2011, aged 77 years. Eva was born in Lostock to parents Ted and Doris Ellison. She was the second oldest in the family of four; having an older sister Eileen, and a younger brother Bernard and sister Rae. She grew up in Lostock and attended Lostock Infants School, then later Rudheath Girls’ School. In 1955 she married Cyril Garnett and they settled in Barnton, before moving to Northwich, she was widowed in 1997. Eva worked at the Lion Salt Works, Eachus Brothers and Cheadle’s Tobacconists. She enjoyed reading, knitting and watching David Essex in concert, she also liked to travel with Dial-a-Ride. Eva is survived by sons Stephen and Kevin and grandchildren Lauren, Dionne and Jaiden. The service and committal were held at Altrincham Crematorium, conducted by Revd Carol Seddon. Family floral tributes were received and donations for Ward 15 at Leighton Hospital.
