Lyon, Alison

The funeral was held recently (10th August) for the late Alison Ruth Lyon of Aston-by-Budworth who died on 29th July 2011, aged 83 years. Alison Ruth Newport was born on 9th November 1927 to parents Arthur and Alice, she was their youngest child, having an older sister Annie and brother Tom. Alison was brought up on Walthall Farm, Aston-by-Budworth and attended Great Budworth Primary School. She married Haulage Contractor John Lyon, known as Jack, on 4th April 1967 at St Vincent’s Church, Knutsford. They settled at Walthall Farm before moving to Bate Heath, Aston-by-Budworth and finally to Westage Lane. Sadly Alison was widowed in 1988. Alison worked at home with her family on the farm, after the early loss of her mother, she also kept house. Alison liked cooking and gardening and enjoyed sewing. She was a member of Pickmere W.I., Tatton Conservatives and Budworth Bowling Club. Alison leaves her son Ian Newport and his partner Sue. The service was held at Great Budworth Parish Church conducted by Revd Alec Brown, prior to interment in the churchyard. As well as family floral tributes, donations were received for Great Budworth Church. Arrangements by Dodgson’s Funeral Service, Knutsford.
