The funeral was held recently for Henry Edward Rawsthorne of Rudheath, who died on 11th August 2011, aged 90 years. Henry, or Harry as he was known, was born in Liverpool to parents John and May Rawsthorne and had a younger sister Edna and brother John. He was brought up in Liverpool where he attended Fontill Road School. He married Edith Taylor in 1942 or 1943 at Northwich. They settled in Rudheath, sadly Harry was widowed in 2008. During the war Harry was in the Merchant Navy, later he worked at I.C.I. Lostock. Harry enjoyed watching football and supported Liverpool Football Club, he also liked gardening. Harry’s daughter Carol pre-deceased him; he leaves son-in-law Geoff Willett, sister Edna Dambra (USA), his niece Patricia Schwab and great niece Kristin Pinnel. The service and committal at Altrincham Crematorium were conducted by Revd Barry Jobber. Family floral tributes were received and donations for Cancer Research UK.
