The funeral was held recently (24th October) for Albert Bell of Greenbank, who died on 14th October 2011, aged 79 years. Albert was born in Castle on 25th November 1931, the only child of Albert & Sarah Bell. He was brought up in Castle and attended Darwin Street School. On 1st November 1952 he married Beryl Hunt at St Helen’s Parish Church, Northwich. They settled in Waterloo Road, Castle before moving to Greenbank Estate where they spent many happy years. Albert completed his National Service in the Medical Corps in Malaya, later he worked at I.C.I. Winnington. Albert supported Northwich Vics and liked to watch them play, he followed horseracing and enjoyed going fishing with his sons. Albert loved his fish pond and liked his garden well–kept. He played dominoes for Greenbank Hotel and Castle Private. Albert is survived by his loving wife Beryl; children Mike, Keith, Colin, Angela, Kevin, Karan and the late Andrew; grandchildren Adrian, Alex, Matthew, Daniel, Richard, Chris, Stef, Lauren, Andy, Nick and Tilly. The service was held at St John’s Church, Hartford followed by interment at Northwich Cemetery, conducted by Revd James Hughes.
