Killeen, Dermot Karl
The funeral was held recently (14th November) for the late Dermot Karl Killeen of Winsford who died on 31st October 2011, aged 49 years. Dermot was born in Great Warford, Cheshire to Ingeborg and John Francis Killeen. He was the second youngest, having five brothers and a sister. Dermot grew up in Great Warford, near Alderley Edge and he attended Wilmslow Secondary School. Dermot worked and lived at The Pinewood Hotel, Handforth, before moving to Commonwealth Close, Winsford when he became Head Chef at Morningside Rest Home, Winsford where he was employed for 25 years. Dermot was a fanatical supporter of Manchester United; a season ticket holder and he followed them all over the world. He loved holidays, particularly in Cuba. Dermot leaves his mother, four of his five brothers and a sister, sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, also his nephews and nieces. Requiem Mass was celebrated at St Benedict’s R. C. Church, Handforth, prior to interment at Alderley Edge Cemetery. Revd Father O’Riordan was the celebrant. Family floral tributes were received and donations for St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice and GIST Support UK. Arrangements by Dodgson’s Funeral Service, Knutsford.
