The funeral was held recently (3rd February) for John Patrick Kilty of Lostock Gralam, who died on 27th January 2012, aged 55 years. John was born in Bridgton, Glasgow on 16th January 1957. He was the middle child of Christina and John Kilty, having two sisters Elizabeth and Patricia. He was brought up in Middlewich and attended Middlewich Infants and Secondary Schools. John married Denise Ashbrook on 26th August 1978 at St Luke’s Church, Winnington. They settled in Lostock Gralam where they have lived, very happily, for 33 years. John worked for Ideal Standard Ltd, then since 2006 he worked for R & B Road Tanker Repairs in Liverpool. He enjoyed watching football, especially attending Manchester United games. The love of his life was caravanning and he stayed all over the UK and France, he also loved outdoor barbecues and cycling. John was a good organiser and arranged lots of fundraising events for charities including the N.S.P.C.C., Edward’s Trust, Children in Need and Macmillans, helping to raise hundreds of pounds. John also loved singing and was a member of the band “Cover Up”. He was lead singer, which he did so brilliantly, he was known as “The Music Man” to his close friends. John was a lovely family man who will be dearly missed by his wife Denise, son Adam and daughter Sarah. The service at St Helen’s Parish Church, Northwich was followed by committal at Altrincham Crematorium. Mr Graham Sheen conducted the service.
