Leather, David Albert
The funeral was held recently (24th February) for David Albert Leather of Castle who died on 10th February 2012, aged 69 years. David was born in John Brunner Crescent, Castle to Albert and Elsie May Leather. He was the younger of their two sons, having an older brother Ron. David grew up in Castle and attended Darwin Street School then later Hartford High School. On 30th March 1968, he married Jean Cooper at St Wilfrid’s Church, Davenham and they settled in Castle where they remained. David served his time as a painter and decorator with Maurice Sage of Barnton. He later worked at I.C.I. Winnington, where he was employed for 24 years, before taking early retirement at the age of 50. His interests included football and horse racing and he enjoyed stamp collecting. David leaves his wife Jean, sons Robert and Nigel, daughter-in-law Natalie, granddaughter Amelia and his brother Ron. The service at Holy Trinity Church, Castle was conducted by Revd Carol Seddon, assisted by Revd Rowland Crook, prior to committal at Walton Lea Crematorium. Family flowers were received and donations for Leighton Hospital I.C.U. and H.D.U. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Lostock Green, Northwich.
