The funeral was held recently (22nd March) for Diana Jones of Leftwich who died on 13th March 2012, aged 75 years. Diana was born in Northwich to Violet and Arnold Winnington, the middle child of five having two brothers and two sisters. She grew up in Northwich and attended school in Timber Lane, then Rudheath and finally at Hartford. Diana married John David Jones on 31st July 1954 at St Wilfrid’s R C Church, Northwich, settling at first in Greenbank before moving to Leftwich. During her working life Diana worked at Conlowe’s sewing factory, Anne’s Cake Shop (working at various locations in the area) and as a waitress at The Woodpecker. Her interests included knitting, doing crosswords and Sudoku’s, watching soaps on television and holidaying in Torquay, Eastbourne and abroad, especially Gran Canaria and Italy. Diana leaves her husband Jack; children Susan, Diana and Karl; grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother Colin & sister Christine. The service and committal were held at Altrincham Crematorium, conducted by Revd Martyn Cripps. Family flowers were received and donations for St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice.
