The funeral was held recently (13th April) for Doris Forster of Rudheath who died on 1st April 2012, aged 91 years. Doris was born in Northwich on 3rd May 1920 to Bertha and Albert Heaps. She was the youngest of their five children; having a sister Lily and brothers Laurence. Albert and Eddie. She grew up in Rudheath where she attended school. On 18th August 1945, Doris married Thomas Forster at St Helenís Parish Church, Witton, Northwich and they settled in Rudheath, where they remained. Sadly she was widowed in 1994. During the Second World War, Doris joined the Womenís Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF) and was stationed near the Great Orme, Llandudno. Later she was the proprietor of a shop selling childrenís wear in Congleton. Her hobbies included knitting and watching T V, she also enjoyed caravan holidays at Towyn, North Wales. Doris is survived by her son John, nieces and nephews. The service at St Helenís Parish Church, Northwich, conducted by Rev Barry Jobber, was followed by interment at Rudheath Cemetery. Family floral tributes and donations for St Lukeís (Cheshire) Hospice were received. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Lostock Green, Northwich.
