The funeral was held recently (21st May) for Betty Bowyer of Lostock Gralam, who died on11th May 2012, aged 80 years. Betty was born in Northwich on 30th June 1931, to Sid and Alice Bowyer. She had four brothers and two sisters; Bev, Olwyn, Joe, Jean, Keith and Colin. Bev and Jean have pre-deceased her. She grew up in Lostock Gralam and attended school in Rudheath. She married Roy Bowyer at Lostock Gralam Parish Church on 28th March 1953 and they settled in Lostock Gralam where they remained. Sadly Betty was widowed in 1990. Betty worked at a Rubber Works, Kays Shoe shop and Plumley Riding School. She enjoyed ballroom dancing at Lostock Social Club on Saturday nights, holidays at Norfolk and spending time with her cousin at Abingdon. She also liked going on shopping trips, listening to music and followed England and Wales in the Rugby Internationals. Betty is survived by her four children Pat, Pauline, Mike and Steve, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The service at Lostock Gralam Parish Church, conducted by Mr Graham Sheen was followed by committal at Altrincham Crematorium. Family flowers were received and donations for Lostock Gralam Parish Church and the British Heart Foundation. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Lostock Green, Northwich.
