The funeral was held recently for Leslie Bell of Castle, who died on 1st September 2012, aged 80 years. Leslie was born on 20th July 1932, to Arthur and Mary Bell. He was born in Castle, the second child of a family of five children. He was raised in Castle and attended Darwin Street School. On 18th July 1953, he married his wife Minnie at Wharton Methodist Church, Winsford, they settled in Leftwich, later moving to Cuddington, then to Davenham. Leslie completed his National Service in the RAF from 1953 to 1955. He worked at I.C.I. Wallerscote Works. His interests included football and cricket. He played football for the RAF, I.C.I. and Lostock FC teams and was still playing until he was 42 years of age. Leslie is survived by his wife Minnie, son Geoffrey, daughter Kathryn and two granddaughters. The service was held at St Wilfrid’s Parish Church, Davenham followed by committal at Altrincham Crematorium, conducted by Revd Martyn Cripps. A family floral tribute was received and donations for Cancer Research UK. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Lostock Green, Northwich.
