Tomlinson, Robert (Froggy)

The funeral was held recently for the late Robert Tomlinson of Greenbank who died on 17th January 2013 aged 50 years. Robert, known as Froggy, was born in Rudheath on 8th June 1962 to George & Gladys Tomlinson, he was the middle child of a family of 11. He grew up in Greenbank and attended Darwin Street School, Castle then Hartford High School for boys. Robert had various jobs, most recently he worked at Robertsí Bakery and for Tarmac Building Products. He enjoyed playing football and was Chairman of Greenbank Football Club, he was a supporter of Manchester City Football Club and went to games or watched on T.V. He played dominoes for Blue Barrel and darts for The Greenbank, Thatched Tavern and Blue Barrel, he also liked fishing. Robert is survived by four brothers and three sisters, nephews and nieces. The funeral held at Hartford Parish Church, conducted by Rev James Hughes, was followed by committal at Altrincham Crematorium. Many of his friends, together with family members, packed the church for the service. Family floral tributes were received and donations for Macmillan Nurses at Leighton Hospital.
