The funeral was held at Davenham Parish Church on 3rd March for the late Walter Buckley who died on 17th February 2005 aged 79 years. Walter was born in Castle, to the late Walter & Gertrude Winifred Buckley. He was the eldest of a family of three children, having two younger sisters, and he was educated at Darwin Street School. Walter married Beryl on 4th May 1963 at Davenham Parish Church, they settled in Castle before moving to Leftwich where they lived for 32 years. During the war Walter was a fireman on Steam Trains, which was a reserved occupation. He later worked at I.C.I. Lostock for 27 years. Walter enjoyed visiting Cathedrals and Stately Homes in England, he also liked going to museums to see Steam Locomotives. Walter is survived by his wife Beryl, son Daren, daughter in law Mel and granddaughter Lauren. The service at St Wilfrid’s Parish Church, Davenham conducted by Rev Martyn Cripps was followed by committal at Altrincham Crematorium.
