The funeral was held on 6th June for the late Beryl Curbishley who died on 27th May 2005 aged 78 years. Beryl was the second eldest of a family of three brothers and two sisters to the late George and Frances Platt. She was born in Lostock Gralam before moving to Marbury and then to Marston, she attended school at Marston and Rudheath. She had known her husband Norman since her teens and they married at Lostock Gralam Parish Church on 9th July 1949. They briefly lived in Wincham , before moving back to Lostock Gralam where she lived for 54 very happy years. She was an active member of the Women’s Institute and in later years the Women’s Guild. She enjoyed walking when younger and loved visiting Scotland where she made many friends, she also liked knitting and embroidery. Her greatest love was for her family to whom she was devoted. She leaves behind her husband Norman, sons Graham and John, daughters in law Sandra and Janet, and grandchildren Paul, Andrew, Lisa and Emma. The service was held at Lostock Church Hall and was followed by committal at Altrincham Crematorium, conducted by Rev Brian Peace. As well as family floral tributes, donations were received for St Luke’s Hospice. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Greenacre Funeral Home, Northwich.
