Gallimore, Eileen Muriel

The funeral was held on 12th May at Weaverham Parish Church for the late Eileen Muriel Gallimore who died on 4th May 2005 aged 78 years. Eileen was born in Lostock Gralam, the eldest of a family of seven children, to the late Harold & Annie Street. She was brought up in Lostock Gralam, where she attended school, then later she went to Rudheath School. Eileen married Charles William Gallimore on 11th June 1949 at Lostock Gralam Parish Church. They settled in Sandiway, before moving to Weaverham in 1950, where they spent many happy years and celebrated the births of their children. Eileen was widowed in 1999, four months short of their Golden Wedding Anniversary. During her working life, Eileen worked as a dressmaker and took great pleasure in making clothes for her family. Later she was an attendant at Weaverham Community Swimming Pool and became very popular with the children. Eileen enjoyed extensive foreign travel and was devoted to her family. She leaves her son Stephen & daughter-in-law Carole, daughter Pauline & son-in-law Frank, grandchildren Matthew & Joanna, Christopher, Kate & Paul, Michael, Russell and Leah, also four great grandchildren; Scott, Chloe, Oliver and Ellie. The service at St Mary’s Parish Church, Weaverham, conducted by Rev Geoffrey Greenhough, was followed by committal at Altrincham Crematorium. As well as family floral tributes, donations were received for St Luke’s Hospice. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Greenacre Funeral Home, Northwich.
