The funeral was held on 13th June for the late Leonard Pelling of Castle who died on 5th June 2005 aged 91 years. Leonard was born in Northwich, having two brothers and one sister, and attended Winnington Park School. He grew up in Castle where he remained all his life. During the second world war Leonard was stationed at Bristol Docks on movement control. Prior to his war service he was employed by the Co-op at Station Road, Northwich, later he worked at Associated Octel until his retirement. All his life, Leonard enjoyed walking, he also liked cycling, football and cricket and fishing in his earlier years. Leonard is survived by his daughter Deanna, son-in-law Roy, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The service at Holy Trinity Church, Castle, conducted by Rev Brian Peace was followed by committal at Altrincham Crematorium. In addition to family floral tributes, donations were received for St Luke’s Hospice. Arrangements by George Bell Funeral Service, Greenacre Funeral Home, Northwich.
