Pendlebury, George Colin

The funeral was held on 14th February for the late George Colin Pendlebury of Wincham who died on 3rd February 2005 aged 72 years. Colin was born in Lostock Gralam to the late George Vernon and Jane Pendlebury, (née Sherlock), he had an older brother Eric. He was brought up in Rudheath where he was educated. He married Doris Patricia Dickens on 9th August 1958 at Northwich, they settled at Gibb Hill, Antrobus. Then living at Luanshya, Zambia; Que Que in Rhodesia and Selebi-Phikwe in Botswana before returning to Wincham. Colin worked as an engineer in the Merchant Navy, then at Shell before working at Roan Antelope Mines in Zambia, Sable Chemicals in Rhodesia and Bamangwato Concessions Ltd in Botswana. His interests included golf, photography, and music, he also played the piano accordion. He will be remembered as a caring family man by his wife Pat, children Dianne and David, son in law Johan and grandchildren Michael and Samantha. The service and committal were held at Walton Lea Crematorium and Rev Alec Brown conducted the service. As well as family floral tributes, donations were received for the R.N.L.I.
